Exam
A comprehensive eye exam will include a thorough vision and health
history, testing the visual acuity, eye muscle balance, tracking,
focusing ability, a microscopic examination of the structures in the front
of the eye, and an examination of the structures in the back of the eye
which may require dilation of the pupil, depending on the case. Also,
each patient is evaluated closely to assure that there is no glaucoma,
cataracts, or macular degeneration.
Contact Lenses
We also offer contact lens evaluation and fitting services. Whether
you simply want to change your eye color or you require special fitting
due to eye disease or trauma, or like most patients, you want to see
clearly without glasses, our doctors will find the right lens for your eye.
Even obstacles like astigmatism, dry eye, or the need for reading
glasses are often easily overcome.
Surgery
All of our doctors work closely with local eye surgeons and can provide
consulting, preoperative, and postoperative care for whatever eye
surgery you may need. Even elective surgeries like laser correction or
cosmetic lid surgeries.
Glaucoma
We have state of the art technology for diagnosing, treating and
managing glaucoma. This includes scanning laser polarimetry which
assesses the nerve fiber layer of the retina. Humphrey perimetry
which is the gold standard for peripheral vision testing. Canon digital
image photography to document any changes that may occur due to
glaucoma. Pachymetry which allows the thickness of the eye to be
measured and helps the doctor more accurately assess your
intra-ocular pressure and risks associated with those pressure
measurements. Goldmann tonometry and digital applanation
tonometry to monitor eye pressures with the utmost precision.
Diabetes
We offer full scope diabetic eye care. This entails dilated retinal
exams, digital image retinal photography, correspondence with your
primary care physician or endocrinologist and appropriate referral to
retinal surgeons if the need arises.
