Emily is the oldest child of Brian and
Jane Becker, with three younger
brothers, Brandon, Joel, and Ethan.
She grew up in Garden Plain, KS, just
outside Wichita and graduated from
Garden Plain High School in 2002.
She then attended Newman
University where she received her
Bachelors degree in biology in 2006.
While attending Newman, Emily
worked as a receptionist and
optometric assistant at West Wichita
Family Optometrists. In the fall of
2006, Emily began her optometric
training at the University of Houston
College of Optometry. After
completing the four year training and
two internships, she received her
Doctor of Optometry degree in May
2010. She began seeing patients full
time at West Wichita Family
Optometrists in July 2010.
Dr. Becker enjoys practicing full
scope optometry, including
comprehensive eye examinations for
glasses and contact lenses and
emergency medical examinations.
She especially enjoys working with
children and contact lens patients.
Emily is looking forward to a long
career in the optometric field and
serving the people of the Wichita area.
